    What a day porter does

A day porter works in your building during business hours. They check restrooms on a set rotation, restock paper and soap, wipe counters and mirrors, keep the lobby and entrances presentable, empty full trash cans, respond to spills, and handle the small issues that come up during the day.

Porters work from a written route and checklist. You decide the priorities, such as restrooms every hour or the lobby before each tenant event.

    Buildings that use porters

Multi-tenant office buildings, medical office buildings, retail centers, movie theaters, cafeterias, schools and any facility with steady public traffic. Porters are usually combined with an evening janitorial program so the building is covered around the clock.

    Staffing and coverage

Porters are our own employees in uniform, background-checked and insured. Coverage runs from a few hours a day to full-time, and we cover vacations and sick days so the route is never empty.

    Frequently asked questions

Is a day porter the same as a janitor?

No. A porter keeps the building presentable while people are in it. The janitorial crew does the deeper cleaning after hours. Most buildings with public traffic use both.

What is the minimum porter schedule?

Porter coverage starts at a few hours per day on weekdays. The walkthrough sets the hours based on your traffic and restroom count.

Can the porter handle event setup and teardown?

Light setup, teardown and post-event cleanup can be added to the porter's route. Larger events are quoted as post-event cleaning.
